Most of what Heralds of the ‘King’ Ministries believes can be found under our Missions statement, but we will expound here.
We believe that in 1888 a message came to the Seventh-day Adventist church but was rejected by the majority of the brethren. By the year 1890 the church had officially rejected the message, thus the Lord sent the church into a forty year period of wilderness wandering. In 1930 the book “The Shepherd’s Rod” was published and although snubbed by the General Conference, as being error, the message and the truth it contained took root and began to spread far and wide within Adventism. The true historical story of what happened when the message was presented to the GC is all documented in the soon to be released book “What Every Seventh-day Adventist Should Know About…The Shepherd’s Rod”. We believe that the evidence proves the church’s rejection of this message was conspired even before the message was presented to the 12 leading brethren on the committee to study and test the message. How do we know this? Because the booklet, “A Reply to the Shepherd’s Rod” was being printed the very day Br. Houteff was presenting the message to the committee.
As Rod-believing Seventh-day Adventists we believe truth did not stop coming to the church at the death of Ellen White, she herself said, “Let no one come to the conclusion that there is no more truth to be revealed. The diligent, prayerful seeker for truth will find precious rays of light yet to shine forth from the word of God. Many gems are yet scattered that are to be gathered together to become the property of the remnant people of God.” CSSW 34
We believe, “A great work can be done by presenting to the people the Bible just as it reads. ….”Admonish them to take the Bible as it is, to implore divine enlightenment, and then, when the light shines, to gladly accept each precious ray and fearlessly abide the consequences.” 5T 389
We believe that most important truths have been spiritualized away totally denying the above statement to “take the Bible just as it reads”. “Thousands who pride themselves on their knowledge regard it as an evidence of weakness to place implicit confidence in the Bible, and a proof of learning to cavil at the Scriptures and to spiritualize and explain away their most important truths.” PK 626
We believe, the 1888 message was to enlighten the hearts of the people to return to primitive godliness, bringing back a knowledge of those things forgotten, “Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, [with] the statutes and judgments.” Malachi 4:4
“It is evident that the message presented in this publication is not a message to create a new movement, but a message for a change to true godliness. Calling God’s people back to His precepts, commandments, and statutes by a strict obedience to His Word to prepare us to meet our God and escape the ruin.” 2SR 245:1
“Your obeying “all the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments” of the moral law of Moses, you see, is your evidence that you have been born again, that you have been endowed with power from above, that you are enabled to choose the good and to refuse the evil, that you are the children of God. Keeping the commandments and the statutes in the Lord, then is the light and shield of your life. It is the outward sign that by the life of Christ you have overcome the Enemy of your soul and body. This system of worship, therefore, is truly the Righteousness by faith that brings the righteousness of Christ in the people of God. Let us now with ears wide open hear the crier’s bell:
‘Isa. 52:1, 7 — “Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean…. How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth.!'” Timely Greetings, Vol. 2, No. 37: 24
We believe Ezekiel 9 to be literal and that God will come to his church to reckon with her BEFORE he judges the world. “Study the 9th chapter of Ezekiel. These words will be literally fulfilled;…” MR No. 59
We believe there is a work “FOR” the church and a work “OF” the church. “For” the church brings about her eminent purification through Ezekiel 9, preparing a people to receive the “POWER” of the latter rain, which then go forth to give the final message to a dying world.
We believe the latter rain comes as a message to wake up God’s people in His church, but the “POWER” of the latter rain will never be poured out on an impure people. The power will be poured out upon those who escape the slaughter of Ezekiel 9 and it is given as a means to harvest the rest of the world.
We believe that the parables Jesus taught teach of a real physical “kingdom” to be established upon this earth. This is God’s ark of safety for His people. Matt. 13:30 “Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them (Ezekiel 9): but gather the wheat into my barn.” In vol. 1, Spirit of Prophecy, EGW wrote, “In the day of the Lord, just before the coming of Christ, God will send lightnings from heaven in his wrath, which will unite with fire in the earth. The mountains will burn like a furnace, and will pour forth terrible streams of lava, destroying gardens and fields, villages and cities; and as they pour their melted ore, rocks and heated mud, into the rivers, will cause them to boil like a pot, and send forth massive rocks, and scatter their broken fragments upon the land with indescribable violence. Whole rivers will be dried up. The earth will be convulsed, and there will be dreadful eruptions and earthquakes everywhere. God will plague the wicked inhabitants of the earth until they are destroyed from off it. The saints are preserved in the earth in the midst of these dreadful commotions, as Noah was preserved in the ark at the time of the flood.” How was he preserved? He was separated and placed in an ark where the elements outside could not affect him.
We believe that at the time the church is purified is also the time Michael stands up for His people, those who remain, the 144,000, will be taken to the kingdom along with those raised in the special resurrection of Dan 12:1-3. These enter into the kingdom and will be teachers of righteousness. Dan 12:3 “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.” Notice the future tense “shall” turn. EGW in 7T 17 says, “…For a little while we may rest in the grave, but, when the call comes, we shall, in the kingdom of God, take up our work once more.” Luke included the prophets in that kingdom, “There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you [yourselves] thrust out.” Luke 13:28 And Ezekiel said:
“36:33 Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause [you] to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded.
36:34 And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by.
36:35 And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities [are become] fenced, [and] are inhabited.
36:36 Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the LORD build the ruined [places, and] plant that that was desolate: I the LORD have spoken [it], and I will do [it].
36:37 Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet [for] this be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do [it] for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.
It is impossible to increase the kingdom “after” probation has closed, so this period of time is during probationary time.
We believe that Christ will reign in His kingdom as antitypical David, directing the 144,000 as they go out to gather in the sheaves. But you say, SDA’s do not believe that Christ can be on earth till after the millennium. We say, show us one scripture verse and SOP quote that makes that claim. Christ has been to earth many times even in his glorified state, before, and after the resurrection. Who was the angel that stood before Joshua? Did not John see him on the island of Patmos? Didn’t he walk with the disciples for 40 days after the resurrection in his glorified state? But we are told there will be many christs and are warned not to go see them. Jesus will be only in the kingdom, you cannot go there unless invited by the 144,000 and no wicked will see him, when Christ walked the earth for 40 days only 500 people saw him and all were believers.
We believe after the final close of probation, when all the righteous have been garnered in and the remaining wicked cast out forever, the final 7 last plagues will fall. Finally, Christ having been doing both a work in heaven in the Sanctuary, and a work on earth in the kingdom, will make His final return and it is then that the remaining dead shall rise and those who are alive will be changed in the twinkling of an eye and all will be gathered into the heavenly chariot to proceed heavenward for their 1000 year vacation.
We all know the rest of the story.
